Things are a little different now that I'm working a part-time job in addition to the work I do from home. After a couple of rather busy days, I was actually glad when I got a snow day today: It meant that I wouldn't be able to go to work (or anywhere else), which gave me a whole day at home with my computer. Instead of a disappointment, it felt like a luxury.
It started snowing last night, and we knew ahead of time that it was going to be a big one -- with enough advance that my husband was able to get the day off of work, and the family I work for as an after-school nanny told me not to worry about coming over if the roads are bad and school is canceled. Good thing -- when we got up this morning, there was close to a foot of snow, and it hasn't stopped coming down all day.
I'm afraid I haven't used the time as productively as I could have -- my husband is home, so we've worked on a puzzle and watched a movie together, and I read for a little while. It's a case of having too much time at my disposal: It makes it too tempting to say, "I'll do it later today." But I've also had some time to work on a few administrative things and other tasks that needed to be done. And since tomorrow will be the same (Saturday being a day I usually work), I anticipate knocking a few items off my to-do list then, too.
What about you? If you had a day or two stuck at home with your computer, what would you get done?
